The Foix viewpoint
From this point, a splendid landscape of crops and vineyards opens up, formed over time by the river Foix and its tributaries, with the backdrop of the hills of the Prelitoral Range. A carpet of villages and farmhouses, with Sant Martí Sarroca at our feet, shows us so many centuries of symbiosis of human activity with its natural surroundings. The sanctuary of Foix and the ancient village of Font-rubí stand out in the mountains and in the foreground, next to the old road that connects Sant Martí with Torrelles de Foix, the Romanesque hermitage of Sant Joan de Lledó, a sign of the territorial repopulation at the times of frontiers. The upper course of the Foix offers us indescribable gorges and hiking tracks in the place of the Pelagians, ponds surrounded by wild landscapes. And also following the river, we can find a large number of ancient flour mills.
